History was made and chips were flying for Event 15 of Full Tilt’s Online 꽁머니 환전 Series. It was a Turbo Format. The $200+16 buyin $500,000 guarantee attracted a field of 2,472 players. One again the field failed to reach the guarantee and Full Tilt had to provide overlay, certainly a welcome site for all participating.
The victory and nearly $102,000 went to player “yuvee04″ who outlasted many notable players including live PLO specialist Rober WilliamsonIII (14th place), WPT Champion David Chiu (17th place), and WPT tournament winner Mark “newhizzle” Newhouse (6th place).
Yuval “yuvee04″ Bronshtein is no stangers to FTOPS success having won a previous event in Stud-8-or-better. However, this feat pales in comparison to what he did the same day of his Turbo win. He ALSO won the $500+$35 HORSE Event #14. Yes, one player won two FTOPS event in the same day! A remarkable feat which deserves much recognition. Yuvee netter over $170,000 for the two victories, and with 3 FTOPS titles to his name certainly stands alone as a great MTT player.
The tournament paid out the top 234 places with three Full Tilt red pros making the money. Besides the aformentioned Chiu and Williamson, Eric Shoenberg, engaged to world-class PLO Player David Benyamine, also made the money.
Last Saturday saw the completion of the second Omaha event in FTOPS IX, and this time the format was Pot Limit Omaha 6-Max. It was no surprise, then, to see that this event was hosted by well known Omaha master Robert Williamson III.
The buy in for the event ran to $500 + $35 and featured 794 runners, contributing a cool $97,000 to the prize pool. The fund was increased considerably by the $300,000 guaranteed that Full Tilt added to the mix – making the total pool: $397,000. Of the players started the tournament 84 were lucky enough to make the money, with the last man standing taking home $85,355.
After all was said and done it was “chipwizard1″ who came out on top, making a very healthy profit on his initial outlay. In second was “tumy2007″, who won $55,977, and in third place was “UboughtMyBMW”, who won $40,216 and ten cents.
The highest finishing Full Tilt sponsored pro was tournament wizard Scott Clements, who finished in a highly respectable 16th. Scott not only has two WSOP bracelets but two WPT titles to his name, the top 15 have done well to finish above him. The only other Full Tilt pro to cash was Julian Gardner, who ended his run in 40th. Julian, who is the youngest player ever to win $1,000,000 in a tournament, has cashed in the WSOP a massive 13 times.
